The founder

Suri Shandilya

Born and raised in London, Suri's study of Hinduism began in his early teens following his Upanayana — the sacred thread ceremony. Within a few years he had learned Sanskrit and become proficient in chanting the Vedas, and from a young age he was sharing Vedic wisdom at Hindu centres, colleges and universities across the UK.

Beyond scholarship and ritual mastery, Suri is best known for a rare ability to bring Sanskrit to life — carrying verses, stories and Vedic insight into clear English without loosening their hold on the original. Rooted in a lineage descending from Maharṣi Śhāṇḍilya, Suri's family heritage originates in the sacred land of Vraja, in a family of Śukla Yajur Veda Brāhmiṇs.

Professionally, Suri is a Global Managing Director at an international bank, leading four global business functions across 55 countries.
